Hydrophobic concrete has been around for sometime now. Usually saved for more ornate concrete buildings.
It definitely needs a deeper look, such as paving, and bridges in salt belts. Not for keeping a clean look, but repelling the corrosive nature of our deicing, and snow removal tactics.
Pavements usually have higher fly ash content in their mix designs. Which has a some what less porous nature.
Airport ramps, taxi ways, and runways have mix designs that helps curb the corrosive deicing agents and snow removal chemicals.0 -
