The Patents are probably not specific to each model but rather general to a particular design feature or function. Each model is a variation for a specific purpose.1

I agree with what you're saying but typically a given model (of anything) will state its patents somewhere on itself or its documentation (right?). In this case, they are all expired so they probably don't bother stating them anymore on modern documentation.
