Pump Station

Dragon and Henry started this one today. They have until next Friday to wrap up.

We are replacing the chilled water pump station in an apartment building in Arlington VA.

    Strainers, suction diffusers, triple duty valves, expansion joints, I like it! I see so many pumps with nothing but an inlet and outlet valve. No suction diffusers, no flow control, just a 90 into the suction.

    Looks like it will be megapress fittings?

    Piping almost complete. Gauges, insulation and wiring left. This one should be complete by Friday.

    What was behind the decision to go with megapress over mechanical (grooved) fittings. Those megapress fittings look great, but wouldn’t mechanical fittings have been lower cost?

    Excellent looking job. Victaulic and Groovelock still take up alot more time than press fittings. This press job looks very nice.

    Gruv-lock and mega press are priced similarly. Either would work well. The deciding factor was the press tool. We have used pro press for years and already had the tools. We just had to order the mega press ring kit.

    Are those pipe "legs" to the floor under the front of the pump?
