i used to use a sticker with my work ID and date on repair parts.

you know youve been around a while when finding those parts need replacing again after a long life that only need replacing because they have just plain wore out some 20 years later

When I first started, the flawed Arkla furnace was all the rage. I installed a bunch of them for the first company I worked for.

Fast forward 12-15 years and I'm replacing them under my own company and some of the customers recognized me as the kid who installed them in the first place.

Move ahead another 20-25 years and I'm replacing them again for the same customers. That was pretty cool but I didn't have another generation in me, had to move on.
