Soot on flame sensor

Options
I’ve got a lp Utica boiler and it is getting a spot buildup on the tip of the flame sensor. It is making it so the furnace won’t fire. I’ll scrape the soot off sensor and it’ll work fine for a week to two then back to same thing. Any ideas what’s causing this ? Appreciate any help !

Soot usually indicates that the air/fuel ratio is off -- best to get it properly tuned by someone with the necessary test instruments -- and the knowledge to use them.
