Maybe. You should get a 0-3psi gauge because your gauge that goes to 30psi is much too large of a scale to be meaningful. You want to be able to see the actual pressure at various times while your boiler is...boiling.
Code does require you to have a gauge that can display twice the pressure of your pressure relief valve, I've been told, but no police have come to my house yet to arrest me for swapping mine out.

@ethicalpaul main vent now gets really hot after adjusting the pressuretrol. Everything seems to be working up to par, just need to adjust some rad air vents and i'm ready for 'old man winter'. Thanks for your suggestions!1
