Busy days here. Shuffled our schedule to fit in this multiple boiler replacement in a shelter in Manhattan. Such gratitude from the residents. Offers to help. Making us coffee. Smiles and handshakes all day long. This is the good part of being a skilled tradesperson.

@JohnNY - It's amazing the box that sits over the burners is able to support the load of cast iron that sits on top of it. What is the weight of that cast iron after its fully assembled?

As a code guy, do you have any combustion air and are you required to put a liner on this install?

I was told each section is just shy of 250 lbs. These are 4-section boilers. Yeah, you're right. Strong boxes right there!

There are two combustion air intakes, big ones, one high and one low. The chimney is B-vent. This was a FEMA rebuild after Sandy so it was inspected to the hilt. I don't know the full story but I'm told they were allowed to rebuild the flooded boilers back then. Now they're in the garbage. They didn't last. Shocker.

Looks like your men are doing a nice job, keep the photos coming. Is it a steam or hot water job?

Remember, those same style boiler bases (just larger) are used for the entire line of W/M LGB boilers, all the way up to 12 sections. On boilers over 12 sections they basically use to bases.

@JohnNY, glad you could step in and help them. It's nice that there are still SOME customers that appreciate all the hard work.
    Good job!!

This is a hot water job and the boilers are staged via an existing Heat-Timer HWRQ. I'm going to try to get them to agree to utilizing the optional BACnet communication module and get going with some indoor/system feedback and remote monitoring.
