Not enough hot water--need help!

    Kunisk, how about some accurate temperature measurements on the boiler input and output of the tank. Take a measurement when you start to draw hot water and the boiler commences to fire. Take another reading when the tank begins to run out of hot water.

    Here's a thought, maybe there's a manufacturing defect in the tank and there isn't a dip tube in it and it isn't stratified.

    Assuming that 6:00 on Homers diagram is the front of the tank It looks like OP's tank is piped wrong. But then it wouldn't work at all would it?
