Here's a 3d model of the near boiler piping I'm planning. Any problems?

Here's a 3d model of the near boiler piping I'm planning to do. I think I've accounted for everything. Are there any problems or improvements I could make?

1. Those pipes look heavy, and the header and equalizer look like they could exert quite a torque on that 2 1/2 inch riser. Is that anything to worry about?

Nice! I love that idea. What software did you use to make that model?

Hartford Loop? Unless I'm misinterpreting. And I would love gold fittings.

I would support that assembly from overhead between the header steam outlet and the 90 down to the equalizer.

Your wet return connection to the equalizer is not correct. You have no Hartford loop the way it is.

I would also recommend using a second riser if the boiler has another tapping.

If that's a Galaxy/Caravan I would choose another boiler! If that's not an option, make the riser and header as tall and large as possible...

Hartford Loop is missing, as previously pointed out. And why aren't we putting the LWC on the boiler? If the equalizer sludges up (be sure to put drains on all elbows below the waterline!) it will read water, even if the boiler goes low.

    Thanks for the comments.

    1. I used onshape.com to model this. It's ok for a one time deal, but it's not the tool to use if you're going to do a lot of this.
    2. There isn't a Hartford loop because it's connected to a water feeder pump (condensate is stored in a tank).
    3. This is one of two, piped the same way, each with their own header/equalizer, as per the article on modular boilers.
    4. There is only one riser on this model of Slant/Fin.
    5. The M&M 150 is both LWCO and pump controller.

As New England said, it seems better to have the 150 mounted directly to the boiler or a redundant probe LWCO inserted directly into the boiler.

Do you have the complete piping diagram available for both?
Does not have to be the 3D.....but that would be neat!

I would put a cross fitting above the 150 also, just for convenience of servicing.

As Bob said, serious pipe support from above, maybe 1/2" rod.

The slant/fin has a probe LWCO inserted into the boiler. Here's the piping diagram from the manual.

As far as the M&M 150 on the equalizer - I thought it would be ok since the piping diagram for the caravan (slant/fin's modular design) has it on the equalizer...?

Caravan/Galaxy are trouble for steam. Is it too late to switch?

@New England SteamWorks why is Galaxy trouble for steam? It's too late, unfortunately, there already here...

    Send them back.

The Slant Fin rep came out 2 or three times, then slunk away. No answers...

Customer continues to have issues I have never encountered before, and I am at a loss for a solution.
