No, it’s to modulate the fire to maintain between 4-10 oz steam pressure. Starts on high fire as pressure rises in the system when it reaches 10 oz the Vaporstat kicks the fire to low.MilanD said:Beautiful, @Dave0176! Why 2 stage it? Are there zone valves or TRVs on the rads?

Ahh, got it. Thanks!! I didn't think it was needed on properly sized boiler. We have it and does great with zones. When all are calling, never above 8 oz. With 1 zone closed, modulates at 8. Super nice. I suppose I never thought to modulate even with all zones calling. I'll play with that this winter.0 -

Looks great! I would love to do this one day!0

I think there's a good argument that you size for load & a healthy 50% pickup, but then down fire just to match load only... plus you could use a few TRV's for rooms with varying heat loses or small sizes like kitchens and bathrooms.MilanD said:> @Dave0176 said:

How much pressure you need is then just a matter of the size of your header relative to the boiler size and size of your vents.
Beautiful install. Like the 2 supply's to the header. It's not a large boiler but I'll bet the steam is nice and dry with the extra pipe.0
