    It's an interesting ( >:) ) problem. Distributed smaller renewable energy sources are wonderful, but unless there is some really solid generating capability feeding the grid, you run into some really fascinating frequency and phase control problems. Even paralleling two or more generators close together can get tricky -- if they are separated by any significant distance... and it all has to run perfectly, all the time, untended.

    Thomas Edison and others had a lot of problems getting generators to cooperate with each other early on.

    They didn't give up though.



    Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

    Didn't say it couldn't be done -- it's done all the time. Just that there are some interesting (!) problems associated with doing it.
