Please if you have a problem be patient. There are a number of us here to help you. We are not however sitting here all day just waiting for you to post your problem. Many work all day and will not see your posting until they come home in the evening.
Once you post your problem please determine if you have a boiler, or a furnace and list Make Model and Serial number.
Control board numbers and make, gas valves, and other controls please identify with make and numbers.
Please don't post and then disappear. I for one see your problem and start doing research to find a solution for you. I post the solution as do others and we never hear from you again. Mine and others donated our time to help you and we never hear from you again.
I get paid $500,000 dollars a year to be on this site so I guess I should be here 24/7. Just kidding we all donate our time here.

@Tim McElwain Thanks for helping us see the other side of the coin Tim.
As a non-pro, I think what happens is that we honestly are afraid.
Afraid a contractor (not applying to a contractor found here of course ) will not fix our issue.
Afraid we do not know enough to protect ourselves from incompetency or worse being taken advantage of.
Afraid it is getting cold and we are running out of time.
Afraid we really don't know how to get real, honest, competent help.
All that fear leads to panic, and that panic makes our problems the most crucial in the entire universe!
Thank you for reminding us who rely on the good nature of the people volunteering their invaluable knowledge on this site that they do so out of the kindness of their hearts... and $500,000 a year!

Dan, You're an amazing writer and even more amazing human, but being a crabby little old senior just isn't a good fit! Seems s-o-r-t-a like an act. Your photo is still smiling!0
