I'm 100% sold on using an air trap and a 0.015" snubber to protect my sensitive gauges and switches now. Water caused way too many issues.
I still have my required safety Pressuretrol and 30 PSI useless gauge on a pigtail, but nothing I actually use.Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

Ezzy explained to me that it is a trap instead of a pigtail. It is better for the gauges and easier to clean/service.1 -
