Prefabbed header

Got a oil to gas replacement coming up, so tonight was a good nite to fab up the header. It's a little guy with just 3" two 2" boiler risers and one 3 supply. I'm so used to 4" headers this thing seems like a pee shooter to me right now lol. And the new employee was on the job.

Those hand held threaders are man eaters. You gotta wear your big boy pants to hang on to those. At least in my experience.

I agree on the child labor. Teaches them things. I still remember helping my dad from a very young age.

It's important for kids to get a chance to use tools when they are young, it helps develop a well rounded person.

It amazed me when i retired and realized there are almost no kids outside playing or working on cars after school or on weekends. They are all inside playing games on a computer or doing the social media thing.

I'm sure the air force appreciates the training this gives potential drone pilots but it bodes ill for society.

@BobC ... not that I'm old but I was one of those kids outside doing hands on and wanted to learn. Not the same today as you described.

When I was 13 or 14 I was out helping older teens work on their cars, they got a helping hand and i learned how to replace a muffler, install brake pads, or swap out an engine.

There was a big old oak at the edge of a field that had an old chain hoist hanging from one of it's lower limbs. That chain hoist was used by everyone when an engine had to come out, every fall it got greased up and wrapped in canvas to keep it going.

Hey, can I start calling my self a professional then? :)
I'll teach my son to thread as soon as he can at least hang off of the handle, he's still too small.

Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

That kid is way too clean...can we see the 'after' picture.
It was pretty mandatory as a kid that we were helping my dad, wasn't an option. I even remember carrying shingles up on the roof at 8 years old (3 or so at a time, I wouldn't even want to carry a bundle now)

There was an error rendering this rich post.
