I don't know the furnace and can't tell, but is it a condensing furnace or induced draft? Maybe should be b-vent.

That's not stupid, it is ignorance; Totally repairable with the added bonus of being able to say they now have "experience".

That's exactly the kind of experience I never want in my house.

Is it a condensing furnace? Look at the size of the opening the flue comes out of, & the handle on the door. I don't think it's a condensing furnace. I have no clue how the intake would have gotten in there though. I can't imagine anyone being that shady, but I can't imagine anyone being that stoopid either.

    It boggles the mind.

I'm just a home owner but if that is an Elite Series Lenox like mine the combustion air intake is in the center and the exhaust is on the left. Very interesting.

There were 80% plus furnaces with combustion air inlets to be piped to the outside. The exhaust would have been 3" single wall galv going into B vent. Without the door removed we may never know.....metallic exhaust fan or non-metallic?

Some electricians would bend PVC conduit by sticking the pipe over the exhaust of their truck or back hoe. Never tried it myself but now know it works.
