I don't know the furnace and can't tell, but is it a condensing furnace or induced draft? Maybe should be b-vent.

That's not stupid, it is ignorance; Totally repairable with the added bonus of being able to say they now have "experience".0

That's exactly the kind of experience I never want in my house.

just a fancy word for mistake.0

Wonder what the cause was.0

Is it a condensing furnace? Look at the size of the opening the flue comes out of, & the handle on the door. I don't think it's a condensing furnace. I have no clue how the intake would have gotten in there though. I can't imagine anyone being that shady, but I can't imagine anyone being that stoopid either.
It boggles the mind.

I'm just a home owner but if that is an Elite Series Lenox like mine the combustion air intake is in the center and the exhaust is on the left. Very interesting.0
-
There were 80% plus furnaces with combustion air inlets to be piped to the outside. The exhaust would have been 3" single wall galv going into B vent. Without the door removed we may never know.....metallic exhaust fan or non-metallic?
Some electricians would bend PVC conduit by sticking the pipe over the exhaust of their truck or back hoe. Never tried it myself but now know it works.0
