You lost me Bob with the MIL-T-FBP reference, but I did forget to add that we had our Mascot Ilka on the job, who is present for every MST job:

It's an old military engineering acronym -

Make it Like The Flippin Blue Print

    Great mascot!

I will say it will work fine, but you have way too many parts and fittings. Look up Weil McLain's piping diagram for the next one. It is so simple you won't believe it works.

Thanks Charlie. We had quite a debate about which way to go with the piping. Because of the poor performance of the system we replaced, we opted for the header despite it's complexity. More tonight.

By using a 3" drop header where you supply the system you eliminate the need for the drips. You would still use both risers from the boiler, just put them into the over sized header.

Came out real nice. Hammer is all gone now, everything quiet, she purrs like a kitten. Nicely balanced all around (radiators/rooms to each other & and the boiler to the radiation). Wind chill in the teens today. Brought the house up to temp this morning and it only cycled a few times on pressure. Thereafter we never saw more than an ounce or two and she cycled on the thermostat. Owner's thrilled of course after 15 years of aggravation. Back tomorrow to insulate the fittings and do some more skimming and that should be it!

Is there anything more fun that solving a problem and piping steam at the same time?! Always a little sad when the job is over...

I have to ask, why the tees and the bushings on the header?
