Got a call from a fellow in Garwood NJ complaining of having to fill his boiler up every day. I told him to look at his chimney and see if nice white plumes of steam are billowing from it. He called back and confirmed yes. Unfortunately the boiler is rotted, not sure why, it was installed in 1997 albeit very poor piping "copper riser" minimal main venting, a slight bit oversize. Its a Burnham IN5 which puts out 358 sq ft steam, system measured at 317 sq ft of connected load. He purchased the home not long ago so I'm assuming at one point possibly a radiator or two was leaking. The Home owner replaced all the vents not loong ago sooooo.

Anyway we will be installing a Weil McLain EG-40 which is a bit closer match to his EDR.

And yes the Home owner is an avid reader of DHs LAOSH......!!!!!
