Piping and component labeling

Most of the commercial work we're picking up is requiring us to label just about everything. This is a picture of my first stab at it. I've looked at labeling devices specific to this purpose and the cost is like a grand. That's seems crazy to me. I'm open to any and all suggestions.

I guess one just has to charge accordingly Stephen . I'll bet there is a spec of what type of material and chain the tags must be identified with also .
Always something more every time we turn around .

Looks nice. A lot of the jobs I've been on have specced brass tags with numbers on 'em, but those look more useful. Maybe mark them with normal position too?

Very nice indeed. If they require metal, I've used the kind of soft copper tag sold for gardeners to label stuff with, and written on it with a stylus. Since my handwriting is atrocious, it's not that useful, but you'd probably do better!

But I really like the look of your tag -- very professional and reassuring!

    Stephen,
I just started to label my new system with plastic engraved placards from a company I found online but also happen to be here in NJ - www.pipemarker.com.

I think they look very good and the cost was extremely doable.

Very nice. How are you attaching the sign in front of the copper pipe? And I can't see how the metal strip below the zone valves is attached? Very clean wire management!

I used electrical conduit clamps that I think electricians commonly call cowboys. Attached pcs.of 1/8" thick aluminum where I drilled a hole, countersunk it and attached w/a 1/4" screw with a nut. I will try and post a pic of them w/o the placard mounted to it.
