    @ChrisJ , I bet you are going to be sooo proud when you get that first pinhole in the boiler block and the gauge says 0.0 PSI and never gets to the 1 ounce to cycle on pressure. :)

    While you partially have a point because it's a cheap modern boiler, I highly doubt this will be a concern for a long time.

    My boiler drain water looks like this.





    And all season, my gauge glass looks like this, never needing to be cleaned.

    @ChrisJ , you must be using at least two Steamaster tablets. That is way more purple than I thought it would be. I had a bottle of those tablets so I started using it last season but two tablets made for a very pale purple but my boiler capacity is 25 gal. so I'm sure it is more diluted than yours.

    Yessir.
    I tried 3, and that didn't go well. My pressure went up to 8" or so and forced the Ecosteam into hold mode which at that time was set to trip at 4 ounces I think.

    Now, the Ecosteam gets forced into hold at 1 ounce and it never happens. 2 tablets seems to work well in my system with our city water.

    That is a good reason to use gas rather than oil, getting anyone around here to clean a boiler is next to impossible unless you do it yourself.
