A Sad Day in Curmudgeonville

My best friend Michael Gurian, lost his 28 year old son in a tree cutting accident yesterday in New Hampshire. It's a terrible tragedy. We're all shocked and speechless. I wrote an article about Michael several years ago when I renovated the heating system on the Barge that houses his guitar parts factory. He's an ex-New Yorker that has been a special friend. There's not much to be said. My friend is so heartbroken.

    Our condolences to the family...

My mom use to say, that to a parent, it is un-natural to have your children pass on before the parents, and it is a burden that will bear weight on the consciences of the survivors until they too pass.

And this too shall come to pass.

Sorry for their and your loss...

I heard about that on the news yesterday.  How sad for his family and friends.  I'm sending prayers their way.

    Dan...

    You're so right.

When I was doing mission work several years ago, we had a seminar with an older veteran missionary teaching on the home. The one thing he kept repeating over and over: "You better hold your children while you can".

God has blessed me with seven children here on this earth and three in heaven. Two of the seven are out on their own with another soon to follow. They're gone too soon!

Our prayers will be with this family in this time of grief.
