Is it acceptable to use 2" black pipe rising from a new Burnham Mega Steam Boiler or is it far better to use 3"? Thank you in advance for the info!

WWBD?
what would burnam do? the installation is probably pretty specific about the pipe sizes, and number of risers for a given boiler, in order to have the driest steam possible. bear in mind, that this is a minimum configuration [do a search for "dropped header" here on the wall].--nbc

picture of my megasteam proposed header
Eric --
in the link which NBC posted above is a picture of the header I'm proposing for my new megasteam .. it will rise a few inches in 2" (that's what the MST tappings are) and then open up into 4" for the fittings you see... you can see all my evolutionary pictures along with some comments in this post: http://www.heatinghelp.com/forum-thread/129767/megasteam-396-header-mockup1-pipe Homeowner - Queens, NYC

great comments
Thanks for the comments guys, I guys I am in the air as to whether 3" is big enough or if I should increase to 4". What compound or tape do most people use to join the pipe together?
