Broomell vapor steam system Help me Dan
I am a contractor and have a customer with this system, which to be honest have never seen before [just read recently read about in one of Dan's books]. The owner just bought this house so I don't know any past history of it.The boiler is 5 years old [has some minor near boiler piping issues I'm already aware of],the house only seems to heat the inside radiators, front and back of the house don't heat. All the radiators seem original with broomell valves and broomell return I believe there called p traps. The system has the condensing radiator in the ceiling and it's not piped to the chimney anymore, currently into a f/t trap with a lone main vent. All broomell controls at the boiler have been removed. It currently has a pressuretrol not a vaportrol and is set cutout 3psi.Any advice on the next step, can this system be modified? Should I put in a vaporststat? Should I pipe the condensate radiator back[is this a must?] to the chimney without the Broomell controls at the boiler? I know its a ton of questions but I hope someone else ran across a ruined brumell system and was able to either re-engineer something or correct the existing system.Thank You sorry for the length of the question.0 -

Not \"ruined\"
just "knuckleheaded". This can be fixed. I suspect the air can't get out of the system.
"Gordo" (above poster) is my partner in All Steamed Up, Inc. and I'll second his recommendation to get a real steam pro in there to consult with you. If you're in the Baltimore area, get in touch with us. If not, where are you located?

Get in touch with Dave a.k.a. Boilerpro
he's a Vapor expert, located in Amboy but might be persuaded to come to Chicago for a Broomell. His company is called Boiler Professionals, follow the link below to see his Find a Professional ad:
