It is a high efficiency cast iron boiler, but it's not (designed) for condensing use.
It can operate in condensing mode for short periods, as long as it gets hot enough during the run cycle to dry itself out. Between the sections, in all three passes, there are grooves that direct the condensate directly into the fire, re-evaporating it. It's lowest design water temperature, at the outlet is 86 degrees F, if using the reset control option. With the aquastat, there is no minimum temperature built in. It's a cold start boiler.
Condensation within the boiler is not a result of BOILER design, it is a result of SYSTEM design. If you design a system that condenses all of the time, you need to select a boiler that isn't cast iron, or you'll be cleaning the boiler WAY too often. Sooting up THIS boiler won't hurt your warranty a bit, just like other company's boilers that run with cool water temps. You might be vacuuming the soot out every month, regardless of whose boiler you choose, but the boiler can take it and the warranty against defects will still be in effect. It's a tough piece of iron.

Simple is a word in my book.
It's neat looking, cast iron, it's 3 pass block = very quiet operation, the very nice sheet metal work and insulation puts most other boilers to shame, it's a nice simple boiler. The only issue that we found on start-up is that boiler is to efficient. I had a boiler man that does big boiler testing check the burner and it tested out at 91% on one tester and 89.5% on the other tester he had. He did a little adjusting and said he would return in the fall to get a more accurate draft reading.0 -

It is the Dedeitrich boiler with a new color jacket. I also beleive the outdoor reset control is the same.
Are people getting technical support for the product from Slant Fin?

I like the unit and the install but an oil-fired non-condensing chimney vented unit cannot safely operate with the combustion eff #'s you mentioned
.Your CO2 is too high or more likely stack temp is too low or possibly both.

Eutectic
I just wanted to share a couple of thoughts with you all. The Eutcctic Series Boiler Line is the result of a colaboration between Slant/Fin and DeDietrich. The casting itself along with the jacket are indeed designed and manufactured by DeDietrich. You have two controls available for use on this boiler, one is the Basic Control and the other is a Thermatic control. The Basic Control Panel is designed by Slant/Fin and we believe that it will be the control of choice on this boiler. The Thermatic Control give you all the bells and whistle options such as out door reset.
As far as support is concerned, I believe you all know Noel and the rest of our staff in New York. They are quite dedicated professionals that are there to answer any of your questions and to provide all means of support.

Slant/Fin support has always been excellent and is appreciated.I wouldn't sell the Thermatic control short.If I don't sell ODR with every boiler it's either not applicable or the customer just flat out refuses to see the benefit. I'm attaching a link that illustrates why more ODR controls not less are needed.

I'll give you a call next week. This is what it replaced. Every component on the boiler was original minus the oil pump and nozzle. It provided us with 47 years of service and was fully operational on its departure.0 -

was made by Dunkirk- similar to their Lexington boiler series if I remember correctly.

is the Carbon Monoxide measurement? Without it, we don't know if the boiler is operating safely.
And is the stack temperature Gross or Net, as described above?
