Banging Pipes

I had the gas company put in a new circulator pump 3 days ago. The pipes are now making a banging noise. It is always in a different area of the house also. Any help is appreciated

let me guess...

sounds like you have zone valves in the system...what circ. pump was in there and what did they replace it w/? I bet it is too big....kpc

maybe they introduced some air into the system when they put the pump in. Check the fast-fill and see if the can vent on the air scoop is working, as they tend to fail over time. Just a little bit of air can make things noisy.

pipes noisy

the pipes on the 1st flr. very noisy not banging, but like a loud noisy continous noise but only on the 1st flr. apt. is duplex with one theromstat, can i turn off vave downstairs and stll have heat on top flr?
