Gorton and Maid -O-Mist/Jacobus the Same?

from what i was told gorton has a metal float but maid-o-mist is bi-metal no float.

Are Gorton and Maid-O-Mist the Same?

I've become a big fan of the Gorton radiator vents and I went online to order more and I found that Maid-O-Mist makes a model named Jacobus that looks the same and is described exactly the same as Gorton. See the link below. These are 50% cheaper than Gortons, sometimes more. Are they the same?

i'm sure someone else will elaborate

but I believe the Maid-o-mist models have plastic components/floats on the inside vs. metal for Gorton.
