Voltage reading on a themostat

I'm trying to set the anticipator on my thermostat.
My volt meter reads at 27, how do I interperate the
numbers on my Honeywell 87 thermostat? (It
has such values as .15, .2, .3 ,4, etc.

    The settings on the T-87 are amperage reads. You need read the amperage draw at the thermostat and then move it to the appropriate setting

    T-Stat

    You are reading 27 vac because the t-stat is not calling for heat. you are looking for amps to set the anticipator. Use calmp on amp probe wrap 18 ga. wire around the jaws and read your actual amp reading. Devide by 10.
