snaking wet returns

I used my super vee to clean out a wet return. It worked great. Is there any reason why this is a bad idea?

    Sometimes

The muck and the crap are the only thing holding the pipe together and sealing the leaks. If the pipe is in good shape, then I guess you have a good idea.

    Right on Billy Boy

Even when I am snaking a sanitary drain, I always warn people that either acid or a snake will put a hole in rotted pipe. I sound pipe can handle it. On new wet return installations, I like to put 2- 45s rather than 90s, for future snaking ease. I snake out my own (only 3 years old now) wet return every other year and flush...I love seeing those carbuncles come out. Mad Dog

    yeah but

if the returns are in that bad of shape they should be replaced anyway. So I guess I will keep doing it. Thanks

    Hydro Jetting

I have used my small hydro jetter to clean out returns.
It is brutal on the hose but cleans and flushes a the same time.
A super V should not be a problem
