i have just finished reading 'the lost art of steam heating' what a great manual/book. i have a 30 year old american standard boiler that had all close piping elements incorrect(no headerpipe, bullhead t, hartford loop at steam level and presurtrol set at 5 psig). at the end of the steam line is no f&t trap and the air vent is on the steam side. Instead of putting a trap in could i install a moisture loop before i enter back into the wet return, and let the air be pushed through the radiators and into the returns?
thanks for any advise

You didn't indicate what kind of system you have. A single pipe system doesn't usually have a trap. A two pipe system can have one. It does make a difference!!!
