f&t trap

i have just finished reading 'the lost art of steam heating' what a great manual/book. i have a 30 year old american standard boiler that had all close piping elements incorrect(no headerpipe, bullhead t, hartford loop at steam level and presurtrol set at 5 psig). at the end of the steam line is no f&t trap and the air vent is on the steam side. Instead of putting a trap in could i install a moisture loop before i enter back into the wet return, and let the air be pushed through the radiators and into the returns?
thanks for any advise
