is there a way to seal the steam hairline crack without replacing the pipes and disconnecting the pipes and radiator and then reconnecting all of the above?????

i once used steel wool pulled thin soaked in salty water to corrode close a crack in cast ecentric fitting under the direction of an old timer worked after chiseling it into the crack wraping it with oakum
