Perhaps oil is a different animal, I don't know. Sounds like Firedragon has the proof and pudding on oil.
What was talked about re: Gas furnaces I'm in agreement with, even though I haven't had the opportunity to prove Jim wrong yet (yes, Jim asks his students to "prove him wrong").
I do some variable speed air handling and have been staying away from the variable speed gas furnaces; we've been doing some Munchkin with variable speed AHU and super stor.... very slick installation.
here is a shot of our "best" installtion, when the guy was offered good,better,best. It's getting a 19 seer unit too, steam humidifier, electronic filter.... SWEET!

Nice Clean Work
Great to see the duct work sealed up. It is finally code now in NYS to seal the duct work on new construction. I cannot tell you how many times we have found unsealed returns creating a negative pressure in the basement area and pulling products of combustion into them and blowing it up into the house. Keep up the great work.0
