Leaking pipes

Need help please.
My wife and I purchased a home in New Jersey last year built about 1900. The house is in very good condition however one of the feeder pipes in the basement has a hole and is leaking whenever we turn on the heat. It is heated by a gas furnace and the area where the pipe is leaking is near the heater. Last winter, one of the many pipes finally burst, producing an opening about the size of a dime spilling water in the basement. Needless to say we called a local plumber who replaced the pipe. However, there is another leak forming near the first one with the same result. This all started when I notice small rust spots on the first pipe. Appericate the advice given, thanks.

A picture may help. It's hard to picture what you're explaining. It sounds like you maybe need some more of that steel pipe replaced...0
