in THE MAIN WALL
Hi
I am in the design process for a remodel on my home. One major component of the project is replacing our forced air heat system with a Boiler. In the kitchen, entry and laundry rooms i only have 3/4" to work with (subfloor to top of hardwood floors). Do I have room to run tubes and gypcrete?? I'm going to use hydronic registers and towl bars in the rest of the house.

    nope

    gypcrete min. thickness is 1-1/2 inches. You could staple-up or use plates under the subfloor but may need supplemental heat. Still more comfortable with a warm floor even if it won't handle all the load.
