We used a Buderus G124X sidewall vent boiler to supply two hydro-air units, one indirect (53 gal. Buderus) and the radiant zone. It was a tight squeeze in the mechanical closet. A Tjernlund mechanical fresh air intake supplies combustion air. The indirect and air handlers are in an adjacent mechanical room. -DF

Remodel Job.
This is a project we wrapped up today - a kitchen/sunroom remodel. The existing terra cotta tile was demo'd and removed. We added a layer of poly insulation and Watts-Radiant tubing. That's Wayne Coleman and crew from Blue Ridge Radiant pouring the gyp. -DF

how thick...
was the polystyrene board. How does that affect the stiffness of the floor? What did they use for a finish floor? Tile, hardwood, pergo? kpc

Insulation
Kevin,
We used 1/2" thick extruded polystyrene insulation. That was as thick as we could go without affecting the existing glass in the sunroom. The finish floor will be polished limestone.

where is the indirect located ? The horizontal unit would have been good for this , or do you not have the room behind the boiler ?

Indirect
Scott,
I have used the horizontal indirects in the past and they work well. In this case, we would have had to pre-pipe and slide the indirect and boiler into the closet - not easy. It would be almost impossible to access the piping for future service. It was easier to use the vertical model in an adjacent closet. -DF
