outdoor boiler for snowmelt
I have a question regarding a snowmelt system installation.
I am considering installing a high-efficiency boiler outdoors under a covered area where it will be protected from rain and snow. I plan to remove the condensation trap.
Could you let me know if the boiler and all of its sensors will function normally in this setup? Alternatively, would you recommend using a non-condensing tankless water heater, or is there a better option for this application?

I would be concerned about draining the condensate somewhere.
There are copper tube boilers designed for outdoor use.
Efficiency isn’t usually high on the list when you are melting snow. The copper tube boilers are super simple to maintain and service.
What size snowmelt or boiler?
Rinnai and others make tankless water heaters, both condensing and non condensing for outdoor use.

The boiler itself might survive. The control electronics won't.
