Can I extend my pressuretrol

my pressuretrol isn’t long enough and I had replaced it last year without thinking about getting an extended version.

Can I get a piece of black pipe and extend it out? Would that harm the functionality? Photo attached.

the distance to the boiler body makes it very hard to remove and service when needed.

    No problem. Except I'd use brass pipe.

    Maybe add a brass union also.
