No. If the radiator is not heating properly, the problem is elsewhere.

  • ugh!! Right at that coupling it’s like a wall. I have dissembled the valve from the stem down without disconnecting it. I was letting the boiler go by setting the tstat high and seeing if the pressuretroll would stop the cycle but the pressure didn’t move an inch. I have the 3psi gauge along with the 30psi tee off with a newly installed clear pig tail. After letting the boiler steam for at least 30 minutes I called it quits and adjusted the tstat down. The best I got out of this radiator was 3 sections more than warm but not close to steam hot. Of course the family was opening windows as it was very seasonable outside regarding the temperature .

not building pressure, you're either right sized, or leaking up the exhaust, or,

have you tried flooding the boiler to the header and letting it sit, and see if water leaks below the boiler?

    boiler pictures?

feel the return at the trap, is it hot?

either the air can't get out, quite possibly because you have steam in you returns, or the steam can't get in because you have water collecting in the supply somewhere. could have a bad trap too if that has traps i the returns.
