Follow-up Question about Makeup Air

Options

In a previous discussion there was talk about makeup air and the importance of it.

Yyesterday was thinking about the advertising I hear about Easy Breathe. This is a part of Ohio State Waterproofing. It is basically a exhaust fan controlled by a humidastat. The intake is at floor level in the basement.

So what are your thoughts about these?

If you're exhausting your bringing in outside air.

At least condition that air, dehumidify it and slightly pressurize the structure. A whole house dehumidifier with outside air hook-up.

So what are your thoughts about these?

Somebody had an idea and is making $$$ on selling it to the public. If and when there is a problem with combustion air for a gas clothes dryer, a water heater or a heating system, no one will know where to look because the homeowner with the dry basement won't tell the heating repair man about it since it has nothing to do with the appliance that is having the problem.

That is what I think about it.

This is how rookies learn about combustion air and make up air. That is if the experienced tech tells them about it after the call back.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?
