Taco Zvc504-5 and SR503-5 LED flashing
just added a some radiant loops to an existing system
Both new controller and the Swithing Relay have a tiny LED UNDER THE Modbus connector that is label DS2 (below R17) and flashes 6 times fast and then repeats?
The SWITCHING RELAY works as it should when the thermostat calls for heat. Haven’t tested the radiant side yet. Can’t find info on the tiny LED though…
Anyone know if it’s normal operation?

so is flashing quickly a “normal” status I don’t need to worry about? I’m not connecting two or more boards.

Refed to comment above:
If you have any questions, please give Taco Technical Services a call during normal business hours Mon-Fri 8am-5pm EST 401-942-8000 and just ask for Technical Services
The question can be answered in real time and follow up questions like this "so is flashing quickly a “normal” status I don’t need to worry about? I’m not connecting two or more boards." can have a faster answer also.
Just an idea from an old fart sitting in judgement 😎 LOL

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

I think it a good question that we can all appreciate an answer to as I’ve never seen that light flash. @SteveSan ?

I don't recall ever seeing that either. It's been a number of years but I've installed dozens of both the zone controls.

Too bad the instruction documents just don't tell you. I guess even the manufactures expect no one to read the instruction documents. Looks like there is room to silk screen the info on the circuit board.
If everyone needed (and wanted) real time information that funneled you into a limited time period and often playing the 'on hold' waiting game, forums like this and email would be useless.
In this case I suspect since it is configured as Master with no Expansion units connected that is the flash code you get. And / or MODBUS activity or lack of, just maybe polling with no responses. I'm sure they put DS2 near the MODBUS interface chip for a reason.
