You all did appointments? Like you would call them and tell them a delivery window and actually show up during that timeframe? That is unheard of hear. I actually dont know of any industry in my area that gives less than a 4 hour window for delivery of anything outside of food delivery. I am not trying to be smart that just is seriously not how anything goes around here most industries give a 4 hour window if they are serious about customer serice, if you are comcast you give a 6 hour window then call to change it mid appointment window and if that doesnt work out they re-schedual so you get to take another day out of work.

The full service oil companies around here put you on an automatic fill schedual, and dont notify you when they are coming you just get the oil and a bill in the mailbox.

I keep a couple empty yellow cans because i am a stickler for ensuring i dont mix any gas with diesel and for just such occurrences. Like when i have called my oil company on thursday to say i am virtually empty i need a fill some time friday, knowing they never deliver on weekends ( i mean i get it who wants to work weekends anyway right? I dont. ) and then the didnt show up on friday, no call no idea when they would come or really if they are coming. So saturday morning i grab 2 cans and put about 10 gallons in. Then repeat that on sunday to make sure the oil doesnt run out while i am at work monday.

I try to be sure and call once i get down to 1/4 a tank so if they dont come for a few days it doesnt really matter.

Never heard of an oil company making appointments to deliver fuel. Why? Did you have to collect the checks? We delivered and sent them a bill and they paid it. Why does someone need to be home for a fuel delivery?

We had very few accounts that we collected when we delivered. We did have a hotel that had no $$. But the owner talked with them. When they called for oil we delivered but before we fill the tank we went in and picked up the check for the last delivery. No check, no oil

No trucking company delivers by appointment. You would have to charge triple in order to provide such a ridiculous service. And who would pay for that? Certainly not the guy who is looking for the lowest-price fuel available.

My point is that the world does not revolve around someone who is looking for the best service at the lowest possible price. You want a bargain? Then get in line at the store the night before with all the other yoyo's and wait for the store to open. Call the fuel company and wait for the truck to show up. If you have better things to do, then pay the premium and go on with your life. I have better things to do than wait in line all day!

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?
