Anyone have tips on wall mounting Danfoss RA2000 remote thermostatic operators?
I have some Danfoss RA2000 remote thermostatic operators (one is 13G8562) that I'd like to cleanly wall mount (no drywall yet). The european mounting holes don't align with a single or double gang US device box, and they are shorter than the boxes. In my case, the longer operators will also be fed through smurf tube, in the event replacement is needed in the future.
Anyone have a trick that works well for mounting these to a box, which can feed the smurf, looks good aesthetically, and meets IRC and fire codes?
Adjacent switch plate covers are lutron, and matching whites is always hard than you'd think. Ideal would be no plate showing, so maybe an adjustable box against the back of the drywall?

All I can think of is maybe a Wiremold or Panduit box extension that you could mount on the wall with a blank cover plate on it. Then you could drill holes in the cover plate to mount the operator. Sensor could maybe come out the side of the box.
If you want it to surface mount directly on the wall maybe have a sheet metal shop make some mounting plates especially if you have a bunch of them to do.
Maybe contact Danfoss and see if they have a solution.

It seems like if you are doing that much pre-planning that a motorized zone valve and thermostat would have been easier.
Did you confirm that the cap tube comes off the actuator or control in such a way that you can get it through conduit?
There is probably a nema to european adapter device strap out there somewhere. Most of the stuff i deal with has brackets with holes for both.

@EBEBRATT-Ed - thanks. This is in a nice residential home, so a box that sticks out of the wall wouldn't be ideal. The custom cover plate could work, but I fear the costs will get high with that. I opened a case with Danfoss and see what they have to say.

@mattmia2 - The manifolds are already installed and I already have the operators, so I wouldn't want to switch at this point. Besides, I want the valve actuation that a thermostatic valve offers. Yes, the cap does come off and fits through tubing. Yeah, definitely looking for device strap with cover plate. Biggest issue here being that the device is shorter than a device box. Looking like the eaton. I need to check further to see if a hole in the drywall behind the operator would be allowable, or if it has to be re-mudded… this assumes I abut a box against the back of the drywall and use drywall anchors to physically mount the operator.

I think there is a mounting plate behind the cover. Just put some backing in the wall to fasten it to. I don't think it needs to be in a box, there is no electricity, or code to cover a capillary tube. As far as I know.
End your fish conduit near the backing blocks.

although you really don't want air blowing through a hole in the wall and affecting the element.

I would assume the controller was designed to just be mounted on the wall and the tube is tucked behind .
