Main vent.
I am aware this set up is incorrect. Any other options to configure? I plan to replace this gorton # 2 with a Barnes & Jones big mouth to obtain more height. As you can see from the pic I had to make a hole in basement ceiling to obtain some room. Have some more room going upwards but am limited. This is a multi family building with parallel long runs approx 30ft. I plan to change both sides with the Big mouth and replace the short runs with The gorton #2. It's not optimal but it's fine. I would not replace it with a big mouth.
As long as your boiler water isn't surging into the main, there is nothing to be concerned about. And if it is surging into the main, you want to fix that problem anyway, not put a bandaid on it by raising your vent.

Agreed. But in a larger building you might need more venting. How long are your steam mains, and what pipe size? This will help us determine what you need.
