    Could do a cast in place type chimney lining to handle the irregular shapes and turns in your flue and maximize your cross sectional area. Not all chimney guys can do it though.

    If the chimney isn't large enough for the btu input any fan or booster will pressurize the chimney with possible leakage through a crack as @pedmec noted.

    Roof top fan would keep the undersized chimney negative which would be ok. but If It came to that i would power vent through the side wall.

    @parity_check21 What about a new 7" B vent chimney? Do you have any closets you could run it up through?
