Will PSEG install a gas line for a gas dryer and a stove without using gas heat?

PSE&G cover several Cities, counties and states.

    Can you narrow it down?

I believe in most jurisdictions their work ends at the meter!

Most utilities want the heating load if a new line from the street is involved.

Years ago my brother bought an old house with oil heat and electric HW. A couple of years later the gas co. asked him if he wanted gas. They said they would put the pipe in and he had a year to change his furnace. If he didn't change in a year he would have to pay for the pipe install..

So he had them run the pipe a year later he wasn't hooked up. He talked them into installing the meter and he just changed his HW heater and they went for it. Changed the furnace a few years later.
