Weil McLain Gas Steam Boiler

I might ask the installer if they guarantee their work? If there is a guarantee on their work then they should come back and do the piping according the the manual. As @Captain Who suggested, the takeoff is on the side away from the controls. that may be one of the reason you are getting the LWCO to cycle. Ask the manager (not the installer) to read the manual on page 17, the section in the red box.
This photo clearly shows the Steam supply on the opposite end of the boiler from the controls.
I would then ask the manager or boss if the price quoted includes installing the boiler according to the manufacturer's instructions. That would have an affirmative response or an evasive response. if you get the evasive response then ask again a little differently "your installation does NOT include following the manufacturer's installation instructions? “ If I knew that before I signed, I would have selected a competitor. So does the price include installation according to the manufacturer’s instructions? That should get an affirmative response. Don't back down until you get that affirmative response.
Now show them the information on page 24 in the red box.
That clearly states: when filling the steam boiler to follow the skimming procedure.
Then show him the instructions for startup (continued) on page 25 where it says Skin the boiler. and the part in the DANGER section and that you don't just want some chemicals added. Your want the manufacturers instructions followed.
Then ask about # 10 on the list. and ask them if instruction the customer on how to operate their boiler is included in the price of the contract or do the include returning to skim after several weeks?
Then ask the manager or boss what they intend to do about this boiler that is already paid for and is short-cycling and banging as a result of not following the manufacturer’s instructions.
Sometimes an email confirming what you understood from the conversation so it is all in writing.
Thank you for the time you spent with me (on the phone) today. AsI understood you to say You are going to …. (Tell your story) … If I have misunderstood you, please make your nest steps more clear. You can reply to this email with any corrections to what I understood.
You need to start keeping documents in the event that you need to pay for someone else to correct the mistakes and want to recover any costs from the original contractor. But most reputable contractors will bite the bullet and make the corrections without any cost to you. You just need to be prepared just in case.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

The installer should have connected a manometer and checked the manifold pressure as well, and done a combustion analysis. If the boiler is over fired that will make carryover worse from the bad water conditions.
What size boiler is this? Above a certain size, Weil McLain says using both takeoffs is required. It doesn't look like a small boiler.
