what could be the reason for the loud rumble every time the heater kicks on and the igniter was rebuilt ( what ever they do with a kit fot the heater that needs to be done every few years acording to the heater people ) last year

how do you rebuild an igniter? if it breaks you replace it, if its dirty you clean it. you can't rebuild it. there are several things that might cause rumbling, if its almost like an explosion I would investigate the fuel, air, venting and ignition. If its mechanical vibrations causing rumbling I would investigate pipe support, air in the system, and pump operation.

Probably connect a combustion analyzer and a few gas pressure gauges to make sure it is adjusted to the factory specs.

Boilers should be comminsioned with a combustion analyzer, a printout left with the boiler. Then every year or so when it is cleaned and serviced, check combustion again with an analyzer.

Has it ever been opened up for a complete clean? It is good to do that after the first year, then based on it's condition, maybe every few years after that.

I think you may be confusing the “igniter” with the burner assembly. As @GGross mentioned, it can only be replaced, not rebuilt.

Like @hot_rod mentioned, the burner and heat exchanger require periodic cleaning and proper adjustment with a manometer and digital combustion analyzer.

You need to find a contractor that can do that.

There are too many variables that could be causing the issue to diagnose and correct what’s wrong without a competent tech on site with the proper instruments.
