Replacement for Barber Colman actuator needed

Options

does anyone know if there is a company that sells refurbished or replacement for Barber Colman actuators? I have a model

MS-83010, that is approximately 40 years old. I would like to find just the actuator and not have to replace the three way valve it is connected to, or the room thermostat that controls it. Thanks to all

I dunno about that old Barber Coleman, but you might be able to use a modern actuator with a rescaler like the ACI ARM ( https://www.workaci.com/product/152?v=238 ) to massage the old control signal into say 2-10V.

If you can't find a replacement actuator or need more information you could call Ed Smyers Company in Pittsburgh, Pa at 412-471-3222. They may have the information or part that you need.

Belimo , Siemens, etc make retrofit kits for lots of different valves. You can get kits that either use open air accuators or hydraulic valve tops. We did this all the time when I worked at Siemens. The big thing you need to make sure that you have an enough VA on your 24 volt circuit. The 0-10VDC or 4-20mA control signal might need to be scaled to the controller output. Typically we used functional devices PSH500A transformers to provide 24 volt power to devices and used a 14/2 cable as the power trunk to minimize voltage drop over distances.

If you look at a Belimo or Siemens catalog they will have a bunch of items to help you.
