    "Kidde". I use them in my own home and in the rentals back when I was a landlord. Building inspectors seem to like them too.

    inspectors require UL- approved detectors

    I see that there is now a hard wired version of the Kidde that at least shows you something if you press the button before you've already been poisoned for hours.
