Removing main vents Q
A few years ago you guys helped me tune my old neglected boiler (2-pipe steam) recommending gorton main vents, new traps, reducing running pressure and adding a vaportrol. It's been working well, cycling off at around 0.5 psi and there are 2 crossover traps in the boiler room.
My question is this: would there be any benefit to treating it like a real vapor system by blocking off the main vents or would you all just leave it alone?
Thanks and happy new year!
P.s. background: the mains had (spitting) vents on them already, just swapped them out for the gortons. The pressuretrol was set at 6psi and the traps were original from 1930.
