Cleaning Old 2-Pipe Trap Covers

Is there a preferred way to clean a trap cover such as this?

I wasn’t sure if there was a coating on the top or not. I would want to avoid turning such a coating hazy by using the wrong cleaner.

    No. Its just brass you can sand , wire brush etc. Just don't sand or gouge up the surface that mates to the trap body. I am sure yyou wouldn't anyhow.

    I scrub them, then use Noxon polish. Bar Tender's Friend works too.
